Laser Cutting Machine

It releases a large amount of energy on the surface of the workpiece through a focused laser beam, heating the material to the melting point or vaporization point, and quickly cuts a wide range of materials such as metals and non-metals, which are widely used in sheet metal processing, automotive, aerospace, electronics, machinery manufacturing and other industries. Laser cutting machines are not only characterized by high precision, high efficiency and high automation, but also can realize very complex cutting shapes and details.

Main types of laser cutting machines

Depending on the cutting process principle, the type of laser source and the applicable materials, laser cutting machines can be divided into several different types:

CO2 laser cutting machine

  • Working principle: CO2 laser cutting machine uses carbon dioxide gas as the working medium of the laser, and produces laser light by exciting the CO2 gas through electric current. This laser usually has a long wavelength and is suitable for cutting thicker metallic and non-metallic materials (e.g. wood, plastic, paper, etc.).
  • Application: mainly used for stainless steel, aluminum, carbon steel cutting, but also for plastics, paper, wood, leather and other non-metallic materials cutting.

Fiber laser cutting machine

  • Working principle: fiber laser cutting machine uses fiber laser, which transmits laser energy through optical fiber. This laser has a shorter wavelength, can concentrate energy, cutting more fine, fast, and has a higher efficiency and lower energy consumption.
  • Applications: Fiber laser cutting machines are suitable for cutting highly reflective materials (such as aluminum, copper), thin plates and precision machining, and are widely used in aerospace, automotive, electronics and machining.

YAG laser cutting machine

  • Working Principle: YAG (Yttrium Aluminum Garnet) laser cutting machine uses Yttrium Aluminum Garnet as the laser medium, and produces laser light by exciting the light source. This laser is usually suitable for small batch production and precision machining.
  • Applications: mainly used for precision parts cutting, suitable for aviation, medical equipment and micro electronic products and other fields.

Application areas of laser cutting machine

Laser cutting machines are widely used in a number of industries, mainly including:

  • Sheet metal processing: In the field of sheet metal processing, laser cutting machines are used to cut metal shells, frames, metal plates, etc., which are widely used in mechanical equipment, home appliances, construction and other industries.

  • Automobile manufacturing: It is used for cutting automobile parts, such as body shells, structural parts, engine parts and so on. Laser cutting has high precision and high efficiency, suitable for mass production.

  • Aerospace: In the aerospace industry, laser cutting machines are used to manufacture precision airplane parts, fuselage parts, etc. to ensure high precision and high reliability.

  • Electronics industry: laser cutting is used to produce a variety of electronic components such as circuit boards, housings, displays, and so on.

  • Metal processing: including cutting of various metal materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, carbon steel, copper, etc. It is suitable for processing that requires high precision and complex shapes.

  • Art and advertising: laser cutting allows for fine engraving and cutting, and is widely used in signage, advertising, and art installations.

  • Medical equipment: It is used to manufacture precision parts for medical devices and equipment, such as surgical instruments and surgical implants.
